Crashing Waves
Inspired by Comfortably Numb, Pink Floyd
There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move, but I can’t hear what you’re saying
That dream-like state we all experienced as pre-teen coming of age, lying on the grass looking up at the clouds.
Time passes ever so slowly like the clouds as the move, a summer holiday lasts forever, time does not exist - yet.
So it is with your first hit of your drug of choice, you become unaware and aware, unconcerned and concerned, disconnected from your fingertips, your ears, your eyes. The distance is now smoky - in a haze, yet in focus.
Aware that the world is moving around you in short starts and stops, disconnected from itself. You grip at reality, a couch, a bed, a wave and consciously anchor yourself in what you now perceive as the alternate space.
You let the gentle wave rock you knowing that it will push you ever closer to the harbor.
That wave lets you ride it.

Forget The Sun
Inspired by Breathe, Pink Floyd
Run, rabbit, run
Dig that hole, forget the sun
When, at last, the work is done
Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one
The first real sound we hear is our Mothers heart beat just after we were an embryo , rhythmic and very much real.
You are warm and hopefully safe, you feel, you are aware.
Then you are born and no longer in that safe, certain place. There is no choice, it is a progression
Gasp and protest as loud as you may, you have to move on with that first mouthful of rage, that safe place is forever gone.
You only get one go-round at this, from that moment on - until you don't.
It is a progression.

All That Will Surround You
Inspired by The Great Gig in the Sky, Pink Floyd
I am not frightened of dying, you know
Any time will do, I don't mind
Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime
I never said I was frightened of dying
Coming to Terms.
As an individual I have terms. I've learnt from childhood to turn my needs to wants, if it was resisted I'd negotiate or push back.
As a burgeoning adult I would fight for my 'rights', some wins, many losses. I'd learn and alter my 'terms'. I am in control - and that's what we all want - that ever illusive control.
Ever lay down in a meadow? Ever let the wheat stalks rise up to the sky? What if you were able to sink, ever so slowly into the earth, able to see the flowers around you embrace the sky above? Envelope your being like you were in a womb.
You will one day, you won't have control of it. You will descend from life to death, your slow motion decent may look like this. Don't be afraid it is part of being. You are just passing from here to there.
It is a Term. What a beautiful view.

Turn Out The Light
Inspired by Mother, Pink Floyd
Mother do you think they'll try to break my balls
..... Ooooh aah, Mother should I build a wall .....
..... Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe Ooooh Babe
Of course Mama's gonna help build the wall.
Self-Awareness.
Key players in my life were few as a child, age 13 and my body has curiosities of the world around me. My safety was at home, mother provided comfort and a shield, and place to not grow.
Unsure of the outside world, unsure of a girl, unsure if I will be liked by others. My safe place is here with her at home.
Self-Awareness starts at 3 or 4, I am just learning. I must reinvent myself from child to adolescent, but Mom says no, she'd much rather sing a nursery rhyme. I can fly, but I can sing.
Girls are not allowed. I will always be Baby. mom will help to build My Wall
6th Gap (motar) indicates the 6th track of The Wall.
